ChemiSense won the inaugural #worldpositive Prize
Obvious Ventures will invest a $50,000 uncapped note in ChemiSense, a sensor and software solution to improve cost and efficiency of air quality monitoring.
Co-founders, James Joaquin and Ev Williams made the investment live at the Kairos Global Summit. Mr. Williams is known for being a founder of Twitter, Blogger and Medium, and Mr Joaquin for founding When.com, Ofoto, and Xoom.
Blake Mycoskie, TOMS Founder & Chief Shoe Giver, will invest $25,000 in Ava, a mobile app that transcribes conversations to empower the hearing-impaired.
Blake Mycoskie presented Ava with a Social Entrepreneurship Award live at the Kairos Global Summit.
TOMS Founder & Chief Shoe Giver, Blake Mycoskie, presented the award live on-stage at the Kairos Global Summit. In addition to winning a $25,000 uncapped note, Ava will receive on-going mentorship from Jake Strom, Head of Impact Investments.
500 Startups will award one $50,000 note to Rumarockets, an artificial intelligence platform for hiring and talent management.
500 Startups is dedicated to building and supporting the diverse, global startup ecosystem.
They are participating with Kairos Society because the K50 portfolio companies embody this value. Dominic Coryell will mentor the winning company thereafter to help with growth and traction. Terms will be valued at the company’s last round and any appreciation (not to exceed a $5m cap).
The newly launched Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center in downtown San Francisco supports entrepreneurs by providing access to quality education and mentorship.
The prize includes: One week in the concept store (a street-level retail space for presenting products, interacting with customers, and performing A/B testing), a two-day Media Certification training to learn to tell your story on camera, a 15-minute video recording session in a state-of-the art broadcast studio, a profile and story on the Center’s website, and a place to work and network from San Francisco.
Law Firm Morrison Foerster will give a $25,000 Prize in Pro-Bono Legal Services to BioBots.
MoFo Partner, Michael O'Donnell, represented the firm in selecting BioBots as the winning K50 company. Mr. O'Donnell has worked with hundreds of startups, bringing them from inception/pre-seed stage to IPO/Merger/Exit. He is also an investor and typically funds seed round investments of $500k- $1M.
TM Forum selected LeapYear, SaiSai Wireless, and Trimaker to attend TM Forum Live 2016 in Cote D'azure.
TM Forum will bring together the digital ecosystem in Nice, France at TM Forum Live in 2016.
Three K50 companies will be treated to an opportunity for significant global exposure and executive networking at TM Forum Live, which includes a free trip to the Cote D’azure! In addition to the opportunity to demonstrate at the conference, the three K50 winners will participate in an entrepreneurial grand finale challenge where they will compete with other startups from across the globe for cash and mentorship prizes.
Dray Technologies won the eBay award of an in-depth user experience design consultation and ongoing mentorship.
eBay is where the world goes to shop, sell, and give.
The eBay vision for commerce is one that is enabled by people, powered by technology, and open to everyone. Dave Lippman, eBay’s Vice President of Design, awarded Dray for their embodiment of this spirit. They will receive an end-to-end review of their product’s user experience and on-going mentorship from Mr. Lippman.
Delta Air Lines awarded Cosmos Labs with $10,000 in flight vouchers.
Delta has provided air travel that has made the Kairos Global Summit possible.
Delta chose Cosmos Labs for their solution to invest in the community and provide technology access for the underserved.
